“Let the little children come to Me, and do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs.”

"Of all holy works, the education of children is the most holy."
Saint Theophan the Recluse

Sunday School: for children 3 years old and older. Right after the Holy Communion, in the Educational Center.

For our Christian Faith formation we use the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (see the video below for a brief explanation of what it is or the official website cgsusa.org), which is an experience rather than a teaching method, as it is based on the Montessori method.

Currently we have a few catechists who have completed a formation course for Level 1 catechists, designed for 3-6 year-old children.

Our classes are separated into the following age groups:
  • 3-6 y.o. - Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
  • 7-9 y.o. - Blessed is the Kingdom, An Interactive Orthodox Catechism
  • 10-12 y.o. - Like the Stars of Heaven, on the Book of Genesis
Teenagers are either in the last group or help out with teaching.

What is the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd?
Watch this short video. It's not about our Sunday School and Atrium, but the concept is absolutely the same.
