Welcome to the webpage of
Saint John the Baptist Orthodox Christian community

Orthodox Christianity is the fullness of the Faith, as was taught by and revealed in Jesus Christ, and "was once for all delivered to the saints" (Jude 3). And as the Faith it does not lack anything.

The Orthodox Christian Church is the ancient Church, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who Himself is the chief Cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20), and enlivened by the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost.

The best way to experience Orthodox Christianity is to
Come and see! (John 1:39, 46)

Every year, one of the ways our community gives back is by participating in the Saint Nicholas Wish list Program. This year, we will be helping the following seminary family: Schlafer Family from St. Tikhon’s Seminary. If you would like to participate, ornaments with a specific gift will be hanging form the wish list tree in our parish. Simply grab an ornament, purchase the gift written on the back, and we will bring the gifts at the end of the month to the seminary. This is a simple and meaningful way to help someone in need this holiday season. Happy Holidays!

Confessions
Saturday after Vespers, Sunday before
Divine Liturgy
or by appointment
Sacraments of Baptism & Wedding
Anyone wishing to be baptized or married in our parish is required to make a firm commitment of participation in the life of the Church, which starts with consistently attending the worship services. Consistency does not have to be every Sunday right away. You may start with once a month, or once every two months. Do that for a year or two, and then improve on it. Always progress, avoid regression.
Then, for Baptism enroll into catechism classes - a period of preparation that may take up to a year; for wedding enroll into Christian Marriage Preparation talks (around 9 sessions).
House or Hospital Visit
If you can't make it to church due to illness or physical ailment, but would like to receive Holy Communion or Confession, or Anointing with the Holy oil (no, this is not the Last Rites), or just chat with a priest, call Father Mark to set up a visit

Jesus said to the crowds about John, “I tell you, among those born of women no one is greater than John the Baptist.” (Luke 7:28)
