House Blessings 2023
The Great Feast of Theophany, or Baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ is January 19. Each year this is the time of renewal, as water is blessed and brought to our homes. We dedicate, and rededicate, ourselves, our houses, and our families to Jesus Christ with this blessing every year.
House blessings will begin January 25, on a first-signed up first-served basis. January 22-24 is for Little Falls dwellers.
In deciding whether to bless your house this year, ask yourself a simple question – did I or anyone else who lives with me sin (sin is something that pollutes and contaminates us and things around us) in the last year? If the answer is no, then you’re good. If the answer is yes, then make sure to schedule your house blessing.
Here's a helpful hint: we all sin, basically all the time. No need to lie to ourselves. While sin is not ok, it is part of the human condition. For this reason, the Loving Lord has provided us with various ways of dealing with sin. It begins, of course, with our faithful life in the Church, God’s Ark of Salvation, and the Sacraments; and it continues with such blessings like the House Blessing.
It is up to us whether we want to receive the help provided by God, or not.
In order to facilitate the scheduling of the house blessings, please fill out the form below.
I will call/email you to confirm your house blessing.
Please provide three specific dates, with times, in order of your preference and convenience (see below for the days I am available). And please do not say “any time” because any time does not work for me.

At this time of Theophany, we celebrate the Life given to us through our Lord’s Baptism.
With the blessed water that the priest brings to our home, is a renewed awareness of the fact that everything we have is a gift of God and we set it apart for His service and care.

In your Icon Corner or on the dining room table, please have:
- Lighted candle, an icon, and a small bowl of Holy Water (I will have Holy Water with me in case you won’t have yours).
- All radios, TVs, cellphones, etc., should be turned off.
- All who are present in the house should come together and stand by the table.
- Have the list with the names of those for whom special prayers are to be offered, including all the members of the family and those living in the house.
- You can also have a list for your departed family members, prayers will be offered for them as well.
