Dr. Paul J. Best, Director of the Carpathian Institute, President of the Lemko Association, and President of the New England Chapter of the Carpatho-Rusyn Society will discuss the question of the origin of the Carpatho-Rusyns: Are we Vikings or Cossacks? Few questions raise as much controversy in the Church, and society, today as questions surrounding homosexuality. Below is the link to an article, a meditation as the author calls it, addressing this particular question. The article describes some of the ways (the list is by no means a comprehensive one) the Church views these challenging issues.
One of our long-time faithful parishioners, Melania Mirowsky, fell asleep on Sunday, June 10. She was an active member of the parish until she moved to the nursing home. However, even there, she continued to pray and regularly receive the Holy Communion.
Viewing hours will be on Wednesday, June 13, 2-4pm & 7-8:30pm at Gaita Memorial Home, with Panikhida at 7:30pm. The Funeral service will be on Thursday, June 14, at 10am in the church.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory with our Lord Jesus Christ!
