The second Sunday after Pentecost, the Orthodox Church celebrates the memory of all the saints of a particular region. In America, naturally, we celebrate all the saints who have labored and been glorified in North America. There is quite a number of American saints, and the work they did here is extraordinary.
A few years ago, in preparation for this Sunday, I posted seven articles describing the lives of eight of our saints. Instead of reproducing all of them here, I will simply leave a link to each. You'll notice that four of the saints are connected with Alaska. That's because Orthodox Christianity came to the North American continent through Alaska.
