Saint John the Baptist
Christian Faith formation
“Let the little children come to Me, and do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs.”
(Matthew 19:14)
(Matthew 19:14)
For our Christian Faith formation we use the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (see the video below for a brief explanation of what it is or the official website cgsusa.org), which is an experience rather than a teaching method, as it is based on the Montessori method.
Currently we have a few catechists who have completed a formation course for Level 1 catechists, designed for 3-6 year-old children.
For older children, we use a separate curriculum.

Church School is now part of a newly formed Family Education day,
which meets on Saturdays at 3pm.
The day consists of Faith formation, dinner, followed by Vespers (where everyone present participates through reading, singing, and serving). Occasionally, we conclude the day with board games or a movie.

What is the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd?
Watch this short video. It's not about our Sunday School and Atrium, but the concept is absolutely the same.
